TEDDY TODAY

Willkommen zurück zum vierten Tag der Berlinale! Der 15. Februar bietet einen weiteren spannenden Tag des queeren Kinos mit zwölf Filmpremieren, vielen Reruns, Screenings aus dem TEDDY-40-Sonderprogramm sowie der Kurzfilmreihe „ Constellations of Queer Memory: 40 Years of the TEDDY in the Short Film Form “. Ob ihr neue Filme entdeckt oder Highlights noch einmal erlebt – das Programm lädt dazu ein, queeres Kino in all seiner Vielfalt zu erfahren.

Neben den Filmvorführungen laden wir euch herzlich zur Veranstaltung „ WILD AT HEART: The TEDDY as a Catalyst “ ein. Die Veranstaltung reflektiert die Ursprünge des TEDDY in einer kollektiven Festivalkultur und seine Rolle bei der Förderung und Vernetzung des queeren Filmschaffens.

Mit Premieren, Sondervorführungen sowie Raum für Reflexion und Austausch bietet der vierte Tag der Berlinale zahlreiche Möglichkeiten, sich mit der Kraft und Vielfalt des queeren Kinos auseinanderzusetzen. Zudem haben wir eine Reihe von Interviews für euch, die interessante Hintergrundinformationen zur Entstehung der Filme liefern und das TEDDY Jury dieses Jahres vorstellen.

Uchronia

Arthur Rimbauds Geist wandert durch die Geschichte und begegnet Revolutionär*innen wie Emma Goldman, David Wojnarowicz und Marsha P. Johnson. Eine vielschichtige Collage, die Fragen zu Identität, Revolution und Rolle der künstlerischen Avantgarde aufwirft.

Two Mountains Weighing Down My Chest

Eine aufstrebende chinesische Künstlerin schwankt zwischen der alternativen Kulturszene Berlins und ihrer traditionellen Familie in Beijing. Humorvoll und einfühlsam begleitet der Film ihre Suche nach Zugehörigkeit in einer globalisierten und polarisierten Welt.

Rose

Im 17. Jahrhundert kommt in deutschen Landen ein Soldat in ein Dorf und behauptet, der Erbe eines verlassenen Gutshofs zu sein. Doch den Mann umgibt ein rätselhaftes Geheimnis, und das Misstrauen der Dorfbewohner hinsichtlich seiner Identität wächst.

La hora de irse I Time to Go

Patricio arbeitet für seine Schwestern und fühlt sich gefangen in einem Leben, das nicht mehr zu ihm passt. Auf der Suche nach Veränderung lässt er sich auf ein Date mit einem mysteriösen Mann ein.

Party Girl

Nach ihrer Verhaftung wegen einer illegalen Party soll sich deren exaltierte Organisatorin in der New Yorker Stadtbibliothek bewähren. In der Indie-Version einer Screwball Comedy brilliert Parker Posey als die „Holly Golightly der Generation X“.

Prinz in Hölleland I Prince in Hell

Die Heroinsucht eines Kreuzberger Bauwagenbewohners ruiniert zunächst seine Zweierbeziehung und schließlich seine ganze prekäre Existenz. Eine plastische und manchmal drastische Schilderung des queeren Aussteigermilieus im rauen West-Berlin.
